Something Different
Here’s a peek at my kitchen. People often ask me where I find inspiration. Usually, I’m here, pouring over magazines or drinking wine with family & friends. Kitchens are a great place to relax and use your imagination. This is mine:

While Fall 2011 fashion shows have been taking place around the world, I see this image (from http://www.fashiontoast.com) as the sexiest, most interesting fashion direction of the moment. Honestly, I can’t get enough of this Rumi Neely.
Make Me Happy Things

These are 2 of my favorite pictures of the moment. The leopard print shorts & knotty knit sweater is from my favorite fashion blog fashiontoast.com. The in-store pic is from The Bay’s White Space at Queen Street. The Linen Rattan jacket is from our Spring/Summer 2011 collection. I’m loving: tan, shades of nude beige, shots of super bright colours and hair with dark ends.

Ah, isn’t a new season so fine. I love this window at Blush in Guelph, On. Thank you Miss Michele, you’ve done it again!

It may be freezing and snowy these days but all I can think about is Spring! Today I’m cozied up at home in my wooly sweats working on our exciting Spring 2011 launch! Oh yes, I’m ready for spring. I’m ready for skirts and tanks and cotton and COLOUR! This picture of Maddy and Lauren wearing pieces from our new collection perfectly embodies my mood for the upcoming season. I’ve never been one for restraint but this spring I’m craving classic tan and cream. Okay, okay throw in some incredible african-inspired prints and shimmering gold and I’m satisfied! Just wait till you see what we have in store…

What I want now

This is Donna Karan Pre-Fall 2011 that debuted in New York this week. I want it all. I’ve decided the practical problem of loving fashion too much: every season it looks new and I want it all!
Back to Donna. Can we talk about this incredible monotone colour palette? The draping? The leathers and boots? L-o-v-i-n-g!
Back when I was in university my best friend and I would hang around outside the tents during New York Fashion Week, a few minutes before the shows they’d let ’seat fillers’ in without tickets. Security was different back then I think. I remember going to a Donna Karan show and hanging out backstage while she gave interviews. She seems like an amazing woman – very inspiring and dedicated. I’m must be getting older, non? Reminiscing about my university days and coveting Donna Karan Collection! HA!

Muse

Misha.

The one and only, Jayme.
I was just sorting through photos from this past year and came across these beauties. I’m realizing how lucky I was to work with such stunning women. I believe every designer has a muse, with a little bit of themselves thrown in. When I see these pictures,I remember how these girls influenced the look and feel of my designs. What I love most about Misha and Jayme is how naturally beautiful and confident they are – plus, they have great personal style, which I think many designers draw their ideas from. Thank you Misha and Jayme, my real life muses. xoxo
